Hi,

Am using blogilo 1.1 on Kubuntu 11.10 (KDE 4.7.2) and I see this error whenever I try to post a blog that contains tag in the html.

The bug can be reproduced by trying to post a blog with the following content to blogger ( blogspot.com api)
Type the content within the quotes in the html tab of blogilo "
<div>hi</div><div>
</div>
"

I had compile the debug version of the blogilo using the instructions given here and here. the error out put is here.

The bug is only relted to blogspot.com posts. specifically the way the XML is parsed in the KBlog::GDataPrivate module. Looks like this was a known issue in the libgdata. see here . I tried updating the libgdata to the latest 0.10.1 , but that didnt have any effect. It appears that KDEpim has its own implementation of the gdata api or may be a wrapper as you can find here . And I believe it has to be fixed within kdepim.

welcome,

Blogilo is missing many of normal features, if you blogger and using Windows Live Writer you will know that with blogilo you can't upload images directly to blogger [picasa web-albums] such as WLW and there was no way to manage categories or pages of blogger blogs.
I wish blogilo got update to be more practical and useful

I had the same problem recently. I found that if i move the mouse over the "signout" link across the top, at the bottom of my browser it shows the BlogID. i wrote that number down, went into my Blogilo settings, and put that number in the BlogID field, and now it all works. Still not sure just why Bloilo couldnt find it, but I am now posting again from my offline editor to http://w7dtg.blogspot.com. Hope this helps a few. Theron

Hi folks,

I am trying to get blogilo (version 1.0.1 on KDE 4.6.1, as shipped by Linux Mint) to work interfacing to a blogspot blog, but I cannot even get that thing configured. I noticed other forum posts describing somewhat similar problems but did not come across an actual solution.

Here are my details:
Blog URL: http://zugvogel.blogspot.com (as reported in the URL field of my web browser)
Login ID: ludwig.frank@gmail.com

So I am trying:
Blog/Homepage URL: http://zugvogel.blogspot.com
Username: ludwig.frank, tried both with and without the "@gmail.com" postfix
Password: (private, but retyped multiple time to make sure)

Auto-Configure

The result:
Fetching BlogID failed. Please check my internet connection.

The internet connection is fine, I have regular pings to an offsite mail server in a console window right next to blogilo. In addition, the blog itself is open in a browser.

Details: Could not regexp the profile ID.
Don't know what that means, but the regexp part makes me worried about the dot in my username.

Same thing happens if I go to the Advanced tab, trying to fetch the ID directly, just that I now got about two or three of those error messages in rapid succession.

Eventually, I also get bigger error boxes informing me that fetching the blog id timed out. These bigger boxes keep accumulating until I cancel the blog setup process.

---

I tried to take a TCP dump and I can see what looks like DNS queries on zugvogel.blogspot.com. I did not see any attempts to make use of my username anywhere in that trace. Just for fun, I modified the username to something else without a dot in it, but with the same results and error messages.

That's all I can think of right now. I am of course willing to perform additional tests if it helps. In the meanwhile, anxiously awaiting your insights ---

Thanks!

Frank

I have several Blogger / Blogspot blogs under one account (11). Autoconfig did not work. The BlogID was not retrieved properly either.
On another account with only 2 blogs however everything worked fine.

FEATURE REQs:
1. I wish it would upload photos to Picasa (or to flickr via plugin), the way WLW does
2. Dynamic Templates - scripting via a plugin, hopefully Python based

Blogilo looks very promising - I hope you keep up the good work :)

I think what that person means to say is that each article can have a maximum of 20 categories of 200 characters. Blogilo does no sanity check on the categories ("tags", as you call them) which results in "submit error" if either limit is passed.

Blogilo should limit the max number of categories for Blogger blogs. Perhaps other blogging platforms have similar limits.

username / password were the first thing I checked.
In "configure Blogilo" I delete and then recreate the blogs but not resolved.
I deleted the folder / home / my-user / .kde / share / apps / Blogilo and also did not work.
It was with this error for almost a week just managing to post directly on the site, then suddenly came back to post without problems. So I test to post more than once a day every day and saw the same error happens a few times and then the error disappears and the post and published.
Right now I am able to post normally, but yesterday and day before yesterday I was getting the same error message and unable to post.
It would not be any problem with the site.

hmm, The Blogspot api doesn't support image uploading!
So you should upload your images somewhere and link them in you post!
