At this worst time you are required to use Inbox repair tool to fix this PST corruption. But in case you fails to find this tool in your system, then you can also use Outlook 2007 Repair Tool to fix the error and to recover your Data.

Tested it just superficially at this point, what i have done so far is installed and published the RSD and metaweblog api plugins. From Bilbo i just setup things with username and password and pointed it to http://domainname.com/xmlrpc/index.php/xmlrpc.php and set it to use the movabletype api and was able to upload images, althought their name gets clobbered upon upload they in fact are uploaded and i can add content to the front page, will test more stuff later this evening.

hi the actual release of Bilbo 1.0 have the same bug?

I have a joomla 1.5.10 installation (old test release), and the XML-RPC API give me the same error, is possible that if I'm update it to the 1.5.15 release to solve the problem?

Best regards

Cheers!

With bit of luck upstream will pick it up too ^^

Btw, don't forget to include the Dutch translation in the next release - I'm currently compiling it into my local version to see if the translations make sense :-)

I know KBlogger uses KBlog as well as it threw me the same errors :P

I have a proposed fix for the Wordpress API to make it compliant with the XML-RPC spec (and fix the STRUCT cannot be blabla error):

In wordpressbuggy.cpp on line 78 change:

xmlMarkup += "<struct>";

into:

xmlMarkup += "<value><struct>";

On line 123:

xmlMarkup += "</member></struct>";

into:

xmlMarkup += "</member></struct></value>";

In line 177:

xmlMarkup += "<struct>";

into

xmlMarkup += "<value><struct>";

And on line 227:

xmlMarkup += "</member></struct>";

into

xmlMarkup += "</member></struct></value>";

This will fix the problems while posting to Joomla!.

For the metaWeblog API itself, where is the conversion to XML done? If that is not part of Bilbo or Bilbo's KBlog, it probably is a problem in KDE somewhere?

Hmm, The xmlrpc on Wordpress API produced manually! because of some problems.

And as i see here, It produced just like you tell about xmlrpc spec! an arrays! If you want to see, goto bilbokblog/wordpressbuggy.cpp the If stmt at the line of 87:

if ( !catList.empty() ){
xmlMarkup += "
";
xmlMarkup += "<value><array><data>";
QList<QString>::ConstIterator it = catList.constBegin();
QList<QString>::ConstIterator end = catList.constEnd();
for ( ; it != end; ++it ){
xmlMarkup += "<value><string>" + ( *it ) + "</string></value>";
}
xmlMarkup += "</data></array></value>";
xmlMarkup += "</member><member>";
}

But about other api implementations I should check them, and if it's a bug, I will contact with kxmlrpc guys for it!

P.S: KBlogger is used KBlog too! ;)
Thanks.

Update: Joomla is using the PHP XML-RPC library with version 2.2.1, updating it to 2.2.2 did not help. After that I realized that I have looked at the metaWeblog API but not the XML-RPC specs.

At http://www.xmlrpc.com/spec you can see why the problem is occuring: an array should have a data element holding a value element which can then specify the value type. So the current Bilbo implementation is not adhering the XML-RPC specification and as such, Joomla is correct in refusing to parse the request.

On a side note, I use multiple programs to post to my sites and only KBlogger and Bilbo have this issue. Seeying as KBlog is the backend (if I understand correctly), this is a bug in the backend.

Edit: While digging through the code I get to the point where the categories are a QStringList object. But I am still searching for the conversion to the XML-RPC struct (and starting to wonder if this is in KBlog or some other lib...)

Edit2: I gave up on the search in the source code hoping you guys can help me out. In the meantime, I am translating Bilbo into Dutch :)

The site you linked does not specify the actual struct that should hold the category data. However, on http://www.metaweblogapi.com/2008/11/metaweblog-api.html and http://www.xmlrpc.com/metaWeblogApi I read that the category array should in fact be in the form of strings instead of value elements.

I'll dive into Joomla's core to see if the XML-RPC server is provided by Joomla or by PHP itself.

So I think it's your server problem.

We already use KXmlRpc library(KDE xmlrpc client library)! that produce and parse xmlrpc requests and responses! And as i know it's in a good and standard way!
Otherwise, My own reference for XmlRpc is: http://www.sixapart.com/developers/xmlrpc/

And there are many servers such as Wordpress and Drupal that already works with current requests!

Nope, that creates a similar error: "Invalid request payload xmlrpc element STRUCT cannot be child of PARAM". Only this error remains whether I select a category or not (haven't looked at the payload yet).

Rejoice - there is a blogging program for KDE4! :D

However, I ran into a small snag: I use a plugin for Joomla 1.5 to provide a Blogger/MetaWeblog/MovableType API to Bilbo. This sort of works: I had a problem where Bilbo insisted on calling metaWeblog.getCategories while this function is not advertised (and ofcourse my server responded with a function-not-found error).

After implementing this function, Bilbo now neatly displays all categories to which I can post. And as long as I do not select a category, posting works like a charm. However, when I select a category, a struct is sent to the server with the category name.

The server responds with this: "Invalid request payload xmlrpc element STRING cannot be child of DATA"

This seems to be a parser error returned by the XML-RPC library used by Joomla (and I assume PHP). For example, the following is send to the server and fails:

<member>

<value>
<array>
<data>
<string>General blog entries [Blog]</string>
</data>
</array>
</value>
</member>

According to the API docs (for example http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905673.aspx) the <string> element should be a <value> element. This solves the problem when posting to Joomla! 1.5

<member>

<value>
<array>
<data>
<value>General blog entries [Blog]</value>
